Alfonso Gilleard-Soriano Nominated for NPSL Player of the Month

Ristozi FC is proud to announce that center back Alfonso Gilleard-Soriano has been nominated for NPSL Player of the Month, recognizing his outstanding performances during the club’s inaugural NPSL season.

Gilleard-Soriano joined Ristozi FC during the MDV Winter Cup, where he immediately impressed with his work ethic, professionalism, and commanding defensive presence. Since then, he has become an irreplaceable leader in the back line and a key part of the team’s success.

Through four matches, Ristozi FC has recorded three clean sheets, conceded just two goals, and currently ranks 3rd in the nation with a perfect 4-0-0 record and a +17 goal difference.

“Alfonso is one of those players every coach hopes to have. He brings effort, humility, and consistency every single day,” said Head Coach Dylan Shepherd. “Watching his development since the winter has been special, and this nomination is proof that hard work gets noticed.”

“Alfonso’s maturity and composure as a center back have been game-changing for us,” added Co-Founder and General Manager Francis Shkurti. “He leads by example, he’s fearless in challenges, and he’s earned the respect of everyone in the locker room. A standout at Harford Community College, Alfonso developed into one of the top defenders in the region before committing to Florida International University (FIU), where he will begin the next chapter of his career in Fall 2025.

This nomination highlights Alfonso Gilleard-Soriano’s leadership, growth, and the pivotal role he’s played in establishing Ristozi FC’s defensive standard in the NPSL.
