As Ristozi FC prepares for our highly anticipated debut season in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), we are proud to introduce the coaching team that will lead us into this exciting new chapter.
Dylan Shepherd – Head Coach
At just 20 years old, Dylan Shepherd is making history as the youngest head coach in the NPSL. Since taking over as head coach in 2023, he has led Ristozi FC to significant achievements, including winning the 2024 MDV Cup and the Spring 2024 MSSL Championship. His leadership, tactical acumen, and ability to motivate and develop players have been pivotal in the team’s growth and success.
Ryan Fisher – Assistant Coach
Ryan Fisher has been an integral part of Ristozi FC since the beginning of 2024, serving as Dylan Shepherd’s top assistant. A former player for the 2020 NCAA National Champions, Marshall University, Ryan brings a wealth of experience to the coaching staff. His firsthand knowledge of winning at the highest levels of college soccer, combined with his dedication to player development, makes him a key figure in Ristozi FC’s journey toward success in the NPSL.
Riku Kawano – Assistant Coach
Originally from Tokushima, Japan, Riku Kawano brings a unique blend of international experience to Ristozi FC’s coaching staff. From 2021 to 2023, he was a key player for the CCBC Essex Knights, starting in all matches and helping lead the team to the 2020-21 NJCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship final. Recently, Riku served as the head coach for local UPSL side Club Deportivo Laurel, gaining valuable coaching experience. His playing and coaching expertise make him a vital addition to Ristozi FC’s staff.
Caeden Fong – Goalkeeping Coach
Caeden Fong brings a wealth of goalkeeping knowledge and experience to Ristozi FC’s coaching staff. A former 3-year member of the William & Mary Men’s Soccer team, Caeden has since transitioned into coaching, serving as the Goalkeeper Coach for Coppermine United in 2024. He is currently the Assistant Goalkeeper Coach for William & Mary’s Division 1 Women’s Soccer team. His experience at both the collegiate and club levels makes him an invaluable asset in developing Ristozi FC’s goalkeepers as we prepare for our inaugural NPSL season.
Co-founder and General Manager Francis Shkurti shared his thoughts on the coaching staff:
